Once you’ve selected your builder, the custom home process begins with an initial consultation, where you’ll meet our team, and we’ll educate you about the home design process and the Anderson Homes difference. 2. Homesite Evaluation
Next, our team of professionals will provide a complimentary on-site evaluation of your homesite. This evaluation takes into account the topography of your site, your lifestyle, budget, and more, ensuring we provide multiple options for building a home that perfectly suits your needs.

3. Design Consultation
Once the groundwork is laid, we move on to the design consultation, where you’ll meet face-to-face with our in-house designer. 4. Conceptual Plans
At this stage, our in-house designer collaborates directly with you to design a custom plan that best suits your lifestyle. This is where your vision begins to take shape as our designer translates your ideas into tangible plans. You’ll be able to see your home design through several stages of 2D and 3D renderings.
This comprehensive approach allows us to fine-tune every aspect, from optimizing the flow and functionality of spaces to ensuring room sizes fit your needs.
5. Plan Revisions
After the concept drawing is completed, we work through a series of revisions to refine the initial concept to your liking and budget. Additionally, we provide preliminary elevational views for your review, giving you a comprehensive understanding of how your home will look from various angles and perspectives. These visual representations allow you to envision the final product and make any necessary adjustments before moving forward.
Once you’ve signed off on the revised plans, we’ll prepare a bid-ready set of plans that serves as the blueprint for construction. This comprehensive set of documents will include all the necessary specifications, details, and instructions to ensure your dream home is brought to life with precision and accuracy.
6. Preliminary Selections
During this stage, you’ll meet with our homes selections team. This team will walk you through the selection process to learn more about your needs, preferences, and budget when designing your new home.
Flooring, cabinets, and countertops account for a significant portion of the cost in finishing a custom home. Our standard inclusions allow for a variety of high-quality selections and finishes. Exterior color selections, such as siding, masonry, and windows, are also discussed to help prepare for architectural approval, if applicable.
7. Proposal & Final Plans
During the proposal review meeting, we’ll go over our standard inclusions, the pricing of your selections, and all costs associated with building on your property in detail. Once the proposal is agreed upon, a final set of plans is initiated – the plans that will be used to build your dream home.
8. Home Construction
After the agreement, the build process begins. We’ll keep you connected through updates and notifications on the progress of your new home with our project management platform, BuilderTrend. This platform will enable you to communicate with our team, approve change orders, view documents, edit selections, and more.
