To the west of Kenosha County, you will find Walworth County. To the southwest, McHenry County, Illinois. Also in Illinois, but directly to the south, Lake County borders Kenosha County. Lake Michigan sits on the eastern border and Racine County to the north.

In the 1866 Southport Light and Lighthouse Keepers cottage on Simmons Island, you’ll find a Maritime Museum. The building has been beautifully restored.
